Dear Grassy Lake Families,

In August 2007, I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of an amazing team put together to open Grassy Lake Elementary School. This was an awesome experience for me as an educator. The first year we were open, I had the pleasure of being the Curriculum Resource Teacher (CRT) and continued in that role for several years. During that time, I was able to get to know and build relationships with our teachers and staff, and with our amazing students and their families.

In 2013, I was afforded the opportunity to help lead Grassy Lake as an assistant principal. Learning and growing under Mrs. Doreathe Cole for the next couple of years prepared me for the next chapter in my career. That chapter began in November of 2015, when I became the Principal of this wonderful school.  The same school I helped open and create from the ground up in 2007. It is a privilege and a pleasure to lead Grassy Lake. Going into my eighth year as the Principal of GLES has me just as excited as my first year! At GLES, our first goal is to make sure every student knows he/she is loved and has a connection with a trusted adult.  Then, our second goal is to provide the best quality education for all students.

As we begin a new year, I am filled with excitement to see how we can bring back some of the traditions we had to put on hold the last two years. I also know we will do our best to serve each one of our families the best way we can. The support from our families is one of the things that sets our school apart from others. As the Principal, I will do my best to create an environment where children grow and feel they are loved above all else.

This year, GLES is the largest elementary school in Lake County, but our goal is continue to create a family atmosphere for our teachers, staff, students and families.

If you Dream it and Believe It, you will Achieve It
